Biography

I received a M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the National School of Applied Sciences in Morocco. Then I got a second M.Sc. degree in Embedded Systems from Lorraine University in France.

I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in Electrical engineering at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology KAUST. I am passionate about combining artificial intelligence with embedded systems to build smart and low cost devices such as: smart surveillance cameras, preventive diagnostic cameras, autonomous robots

KAUST AI-INITIATIVE Funding Grant

Together with Dr. Ibrahima N’doye, my advisor Prof Meriem laleg, Prof. Bernard Ghanem, and Prof. Micheal Berumen’s, we have been awarded the AI initiative Grant from KAUST (50K USD). In this project, we propose to implement a computer vision-based approach for the studying fish behavior and feeding back to the control and monitoring system.

Impact Acceleration Funding Grant

Together with, my advisor Prof Meriem laleg, Prof. Turky Nayef Alotaiby (KACST), and Prof. Saleh Alshebeili (KSU) in collaboration with King Fahad Medical City (KFMC), we have been awarded an Impact Acceleration Grant from KAUST (100K USD).

Investigate mathematical, statistical and data-driven models of the COVID-19 to understand factors promoting virus spread.

Implement a data-driven control for smart aquaculture. The proposed approach will take advantage of the recent developments in computer vision technology to assess and inspect fish behavior and feedback information on fish behavior

Nowadays, there is a recent call to build a human-independent intelligence which can assist clinicians during medical diagnosis.

Investigate the potentials of the semi-classical signal algorithm (SCSA) for biosignal estimation.

QuPWM: Feature Extraction Method for MEG Epileptic Spike Detection

We developed a feature extraction method, called QuPWM, for epileptic spikes detection in MEG signals. This method is based on combining the position weight matrix (PWM) method with digital quantization.
